But I do prefer that gen S10's body style. If I get a ranger it would be a DD, also to haul my giant art crap. As much as I love the FWD in my dad's Odyssey, I much Prefer the RWD of My friend's 5 speed 97 ranger:

Ive driven it, and It is stupid fun. I love cars that make you giggle for the stupidest reasons. Like driving a Honda Odyssey at 35mph around tight corners (I have done that, my mom was not amused)

Either way, unless it's swapped, it's a 5 speed. But yeah, on most transmissions with more than 4 speeds, 5th+ is usually overdrive.

I have one of these! It is a B2300 SE by the looks of it, though I could be wrong (I have a 2500). 115 HP at the crank 15 years ago! You will learn to hate the 1-2 shift because the trans in this car is abysmal at best, also pulling 3k at 70 MPH gets really, really old, but these shits are bulletproof. I rev the shit out of it daily (too slow otherwise) and have never had a problem. Word to the wise, the tach says 6k, but 5k is the published redline and I wouldn't push it. Also keep your leaf spring bushings well lubed or they creak like no car I've ever heard. And be careful in the rain, 225's all around means its easy to get into a 4 wheel slide (this has happened to me 3x in the last year, scary as hell) and if you're on an incline in the wet you'll probably have to start it from 2nd.
